Appearance[]
This creature is a large whale that is surrounded by a bright aura. It can also alter its size at will.
Personality[]
The whale is very devoted to its duty.
Background[]
The whale was created by an ancient civilization in Tortus that had been brought to ruin by the abuannce of powerful monsters that they also created. With their final act, the people of the civilization managed to seal away most of the monsters they’d created by trapping them in a pocket dimension. In order to accomplish this, however, they needed to use the whale as a cornerstone and fused its essence to the artifact that acted as a seal. As the years passed, the seal weakened until it nearly reached the breaking point, with the whale's power also growing weaker. As it traveled to and from Tortus multiple times, its presence caused a phenomenon that started a rumor known as "The Shimmering Ocean."
Chronology[]
When Hajime Nagumo and his companions were out one night on the sea near Erisen to investigate that rumor while on his submarine, the whale appeared through a veil of fog and approached the submarine. It then unleashed a violet storm around them that made a crater of the surrounding water, and began dragging them to the bottom of the ocean. Hajime was about to attack the whale, but was stopped by the young dagon Myu, who claimed that the creature wasn't trying to harm them. Before Hajime and the others could try to escape, the whale spoke through Myu and asked them for their help before unleashing a sudden burst of intense light that knocked them out as they continued being dragged to the ocean floor.
Hajime's group was transported to the pocket dimension, while having been separated from one and other. During this time, the whale communicated to Myu telepathically and guided her to meet up with someone that it claimed to be another member of her race. While Myu was following the whale's directions, it continuously apologized to her, while also pleading for her help. Myu wanted to learn more about the whale, but it was too weak to properly answer and repeated its plea for help. Soon after, Myu heard a fight break out nearby, and the whale told her to run away from it in order to meet up with her allies. Myu ran as fast as she could, but she was soon confronted by a pack of grotesque monsters. Before they could attack her, however, the whale arrived (in a much smaller size than before) and pushed back the monsters' leader into a brick wall. The rest of the monsters then attempted to attack Myu, but the whale shielded her with its body and managed to push them back with a pulse of light. Unfortunately, the whale continued to grow weaker and was diminishing in size as a result. Myu tried to convince the whale to that she would be alright and to follow her while attempting to escape, but she was immediately surrounded by the monsters. As they were about to attack Myu, they were suddenly washed away by a torrent of water that managed to kill them in all sorts of ways. It was soon revealed that the source of the magic water was a dagon women named Meiru Melusine, and she managed to finish off all of the monsters that were pursuing Myu. She then offered to stay close to Myu in order to protect her, with the whale perched atop Myu's head after having shrunk so much. Moments later, the sounds of another fight broke out nearby and all three of them headed towards that direction. When they arrived, they met up with Meiru's friends Miledi, Oscar and Naiz. Once they introduced themselves to Myu, she soon realized that they were actually the members of the Liberators that had existed millennia ago based on stories that Hajime told her of them. Before Myu could figure out the situation, a massive earthquake rippled throughout the entire area and caused her to lose her balance, but the whale saved her before she could hit the ground by enveloping her in light and lifted her up in the air, before growing large enough to let her sit on its back. It then told her to locate Hajime at the large castle that was in the center of the whole area. Myu then had the Liberators follow her, since they couldn't hear the whale speak. As they made their way to the castle, they were constantly being confronted by a large army of monsters, but the Liberators managed to push them back with ease.
They all rendezvoused at the castle while they and Myu's friends were confronting another batch of monsters, and managed to defeat them. The whale then flew straight towards Hajime so that Myu could hop off towards him. Once they all gathered together, Hajime, Yue and Shea immediately attacked Miledi for the perils they experienced while exploring her labyrinth, but they soon stopped when Myu told them they needed to focus on helping the whale. They all gathered towards Myu and the whale used her as a medium to convey its backstory to them. It then explained that the only way to stop the monsters from escaping the dimension was to obtain the two greatest Synergists in history, Oscar and Hajime, and have them repair the artifact with their creation magic. For that reason, it traveled through time to bring Hajime and Oscar from when each of them was in the same point in space during their respective eras, and restore the city's barrier with their help. Oscar and Hajime agreed to the whale's request and worked on repairing the barrier while the rest of them focused on keeping the monsters at bay. After a hard fought battle, Hajime and Oscar successfully repaired the artifact. This in turn restored the whale's full power and made a triumphant roar before unleashing a blinding radiance that caused all the monsters to be sealed back into the artifact. The whale then sent everyone back to their original timelines though the same burst of light.
Once everyone returned to their proper timelines, while having lost their memories of the whole ordeal, they were approached by various fish made of light that caused the whole sea to glow. Eventually the whale made one final appearance to them and expressed its gratitude by crying out to hem before it dove back into the ocean. The sparkling water rose up in a giant pillar as the whale displaced it, and the shimmering sea creatures danced around where the whale had submerged.
