Reichi Kondou (
He was killed by Eri Nakamura, who stabbed his heart by one of her slaves and later turned him into a puppet using her Spirit Binding until Hajime shot his head off.
Appearance
Reichi was a young man with dark-brown spiky hair, brown eyes and freckles.
Personality
Reichi acted like a typical bully. He enjoyed picking on others weaker than him (particularly Hajime), but would back down when confronted by those he considered stronger than him. After being transported to Tortus with his class and being granted magic, his bullying rose to a greater extent where he used violence and justified it as a way to train. He had also grown more arrogant in his abilities, and believed that he and his friends were practically unbeatable.
Reichi also had a short temper, and would get confrontational with others when faced with enough pressure, as evident when he threatened Ryutarou Sakagami, following their defeat by Cattleya's monsters.
Chronology
One monday morning during his second year of high school, Reichi and his three friends Daisuke, Yoshiki and Shinji were verbally harassing Hajime Nagumo after he barely arrived in time before class began.
When it became lunchtime, Reichi and his class were suddenly engulfed in a large glowing circle that transported. Once it was over, everyone saw that they were suddenly inside a large cathedral. Soon after, they were approach by Pope Ishtar Langbard of the Holy Church, and explained to them that they had been summoned the alternate world of Tortus by humanity's god Ehit, in order to aid in their war against the demons. When Ishtar revealed that Ehit was the only one with the power to send them home, the students agreed to fight alongside the Humans of Tortus, against the protests of their teacher Aiko Hatayama. The next morning, Daisuke and the rest of his classmates gathered at the palace courtyard to begin their training. They were greeted by the kingdom's Knight Commander Meld Loggins, and were each given a Status Plate artifact before he explained how it worked to everyone. As the students began to activate their plates, Reichi and his friends were making fun of Hajime after it was revealed that he had the common job of "Synergist", as well as possessing average stats. Over the next two weeks, the students trained in the kingdom in order to prepare for the war against the demons. During that time, Reichi and his friends continuously harassed Hajime by attacking him with their magic, but would stop whenever they were confronted by their classmates Kaori, Shizuku, Kouki and Ryutarou.
Once the students' initial training complete, they traveled to the town of Horaud in order to explore the Great Orcus Labyrinth, and battle the monsters that resided there as a way to gain combat experience. During the their exploration into the labyrinth, Daisuke accidentally set off a trap that transported everyone transported to the 65th floor. They soon found themselves at a stone bridge and was trapped between a behemoth and and army of skeletal traum soldiers. Hajime managed to hold the Behemoth back his transmutation magic while the others managed to create an escape path through the skeletons. Most of them were able to escape, but Hajime had been presumed dead after being hit by a fireball while making his was back to his classmates, and fell over the bridge with the Behemoth.
Reichi was among the students that resumed their training in the Great Orcus Labyrinth, in spite of the dangers they knew it contained. As they managed to become stronger and advance deep into the labyrinth, Reichi and his friends grew more arrogant and expressed their belief that they were invincible (though they remained humble while in the presence of Kouki and his friends). As they reached the 65th floor once more, they once again encountered the Behemoth and traum soldiers. Despite the lingering trauma from their previous encounter, as well as the fact that there were less people of fight it than before, the students managed to defeat the Behemoth and continued their journey down the labyrinth.
Reichi and the other students continued their training in the labyrinth until they eventually reached the 90th floor. that they were not being attacked by any monsters. It was soon discovered that they had all been wiped out by other monsters that were under the command of a demon named Cattleya. She approached the students and offered them to join the demons in the war against the humans, but Kouki immediately refused on their behalf and a battle ensued. During the fight, Reichi, Yoshiki and Kentarou Nomura were turned to stone while trying to protect the Suzu Taniguchi from Cattleya's petrification spell "Dark Gaol". When it became clear that they were at an overwhelming disadvantage, the students retreated to the 89th floor, with Jugo Nagayama carrying Reichi and Yoshiki away.
Once everyone managed to take shelter in a hidden area, Reichi and Yoshiki were healed by Kaori. After everyone had recovered, Suzu tried to lighten the mood by being humorous with Kaori, but Reichi yelled at her for not taking their current situation seriously. Kouki tried to calm Reichi down, but only caused him to redirect his anger at him instead. Kouki's friend Ryutarou started yelling back in his defense, but Reichi wasn't willing to back down. Kouki accepted Reichi's critique, and vowed to the defeat the monsters next time. However, Reichi remained unconvinced, and resumed hostilities with Ryutarou. It had gotten to a point where both of them had pointed their weapons at each other, but they ceased their hostilities in order to maintain being hidden when Cattleya's monsters had passed by them while searching for them.
However, Cattleya discovered their location moments later and blasted away the entrance to their hideout. Debris from the attack struck Reichi and Mao Yoshino hard enough to send them sprawling to the ground. As Cattleya's monsters once more battled the students, a barrage of tentacles headed toward Kondou. He desperately tried to fend them off with his spear, but there were too many of them. However, before they were about to hit him, he was saved by Kaori and Suzu's barrier magic. He then helped lead Shinji and Yoshiki to Suzu in order to keep them safe with her magic.
Despite the students efforts, Cattleya managed to defeat them after having incapacitated Kouki. She offered the students another chance to join the demons, but Kouki once more rejected her offer and managed to free himself, but was rendered incapacitated once more by the monsters. As Cattelya's forces resumed attacking the students and were on the verge of victory, they were stopped by the sudden arrival of a mysterious boy that had accompanied Kousuke Endou (who managed to escape the labyrinth after Cattleya's first attack in order to find help for his classmates). It was soon revealed that the person who accompanied Kousuke was Hajime Nagumo, who had survived his fall during their first trip to the. labyrinth.
In the end, Hajime easily managed to eliminate all the monsters and kill Cattleya. When Kaori approached him soon after, Reichi was greatly upset that she hugged him after expressing her relief hat he was alive. As everyone was making their way out of the labyrinth, Reichi remained unnerved by Hajime's new appearance. He and Daisuke attempted to get closer to Hajime's companions Yue and Shea, but the two girls ignored them completely. When Kaori decided to accompany Hajime on his journey after they returned to Horaud, Reichi and his friends protested at Hajime, but Daisuke told his friends to back down. At first, they were surprised by Daisuke’s uncharacteristic obedience, but his serious tone brooked no argument, so they too gave up on persuading Hajime. As Kaori was getting her thing from Horaud's inn before setting off, Reichi and his friends offered to go with her, but Hajime prevented them from going.
Sometime after the ordeal in the labyrinth, Reichi and the other students heard a strange noise one night and quickly geared up for battle. When they all gathered together to access the situation, they learned from one of the palace maids, Nia, that the demons were invading the capital, and the noise the heard before was them destroying the capital's outer magic barrier. After some debate, the students decided to meet up with the kingdom's knights in the courtyard in order to coordinate a counterattack with them. Soon after the students arrived at the courtyard, they were suddenly ambushed by the knights, who repeatedly stabbed and restrained them with mana-sealing shackles. They soon learned that the knights were under the control of their classmate Eri, and the she had used her necromancy magic to control them after she killed. She then expressed her desire to do the same with the rest of her classmates, and began making her way towards Reichi, due to him being the closest one to her. Reichi fearfully tried to back away, but he was still restrained by Eri's undead knights and could only squirm in vain. Reichi pleaded Eri to spare him, but she had the undead knight that was restraining him ram a sword though his heart, killing him. His body spasmed momentally before finally becoming lifeless. Eri then chanted her Spirit Binding spell. Once she had finished, an apparition of Reichi suddenly appeared and merged with his corpse. The knights who had held him down stepped back, allowing his corpse to rise on its own, much to his classmates's shock, while exhibiting the same lifeless expression as the rest of Eri's undead minions. The other students managed to free themselves soon after, thanks to the timely intervention of Kaori, but she had been mortally wounded by Daisuke, who was revealed to be Eri's accomplice. Just as Eri was about to cast her spell on Kaori, Hajime arrived and severally injured Daisuke. As he then made his way towards Eri, she tried unsuccessfully to get him to stand dow by promising to revive Kaori into his undead slave. A moment later, Eri had Reichi attack Hajime by thrusting his spear at his back as such high speed. Hajime, however, was unfazed by Reichi's sneak attack due to using "Diamond Skin" and "Focused Strengthening" to block his spear. He then aimed his elbow shogun on his prosthetic arm at Reichi and fired a slug that pulverized his skull. In the end, Hajime managed to thwart the demons' invasion, but Eri had managed to escape (though he did kill Daisuke).
After the invasion in the kingdom, Reichi's body was buried in an unmarked grave by the kingdom's monument known as the "Cenotaph of Brave Souls". His spear was adorned there among the offerings to all those who were killed.
When the remaining students fiinally returned to Earth, Reichi's family learned of his death through Hajime and Aiko. They expressed their hatred towards Hajime for Reichi's death, but refrained from getting revenge after learning of Hajime punishing Daisuke's family for that reason.[1]
Relationships
Daisuke Hiyama, Yoshiki Saitou & Shinji Nakano
Reichi's three closest friends and partners in crime. Alongside them, he bullied Hajime as much as possible mostly because they liked Kaori as well. When Hiyama betrayed them by aligning with Ehit and Eri, the latter killed him and turned him into a puppet using her Spirit Binding.
Hajime Nagumo
Hajime was his former bully victim in the past, but now became Reichi's killer after he became an undead soldier. Kondou, along with his friends, were blatantly jealous that Kaori was interested in Hajime so they constantly bullied him at school and in Tortus at the beginning. When he along with his classmates were saved by Hajime, Reichi was shocked and frightened by Hajime's inhuman dynamism and ruthless attitude. While his leader failed to get Hajime to return to the so-called "Hero Party" via feigning his and the Bastard Four's apologies for all their cruelties post transmigration, purely so he could remain close to Kaori, Kondou and the Four (except for Hiyama due to his persistence) had all easily given up on both their assault on Hajime and any chance they had for getting Kaori's affection, particularly after Hajime revealed while his mistreatment at their hands mean nothing to him now. He blatantly refused to return to said party by calling the four as worthless and weak. After their leader Daisuke's betrayal and Eri had Reichi killed and then resuscitated into her puppet, he was ordered to attack Hajime; only to end up dead again through a headshot begotten from an enraged Hajime when the latter obliterated the former's skull without hesitation.
Kaori Shirasaki
Like Daisuke, Reichi also had feelings for Kaori, similar to Daisuke, but to a lesser extent than him. Unlike Hiyama, he gave up on Kaori when having no desire of incurring Hajime's wrath.
