Dr. Down, however, stole a sample of the drug and presented it to Kaysis Wentworks of Gamma Pharmaceuticals. They conspired together on a plan to mass-produce the drug and have the entire world consume it through their drinking water, while also working on a secondary drug that would temporarily mitigate berserk's symptoms, his postponing its deadly side-effects.
When it was discovered on the news that Berserk had been leaked and had killed someone, Dr. Down and his students contacted the authorities for help.
