Laus Barn (ラウス・バーン, Rausu Bān?) was a character who appeared both in the main "Arifureta: From Commonplace to World's Strongest" series as a minor character, and a major character in the spin-off "Arifureta Zero" series.
He was the former Commander of the Templar Knights before joining the Liberators, as well as an Atavist with the ability to use one of the Ancient Magics from the "Age of God". He was also the creator and caretaker of the Barn Labyrinth in the Divine Mountain.
Appearance
Laus was an adult man in his 30's, but looked much older. He had a receding hairline and many wrinkles on his face. Laus later shaved his head in order to hide his thinning hair.
After betraying the Holy Church in order to save his son Sharm, Laus lost his left arm, and had it replaced with a metalprosthetic arm that was made by Oscar Orcus.
Personality
Despite being taught to worship the Holy Church since his birth, Laus had doubts about following their doctrine. He was fully aware of how brutal they treated those that did not follow their teachings, and was greatly disturbed by it. Even so, he believed that being loyal to the church was the best means of survival for himself and those that he cared about.
Laus was extremely selfless, as he cared greatly about his family and would sacrifice everything for them, as well as for what he considered the greater good. However, even though he was very kind, as well as one of the greatest warriors of his day, Laus considered himself to be very cowardly since was initially hesitant to stand up for what he truly believed was right, until he met Miledi Reisen.
Laus was very sensitive about his appearance. He would get upset whenever he was accused of looking much older than his actual age.
