Guze (グゼ?) is one of the elders of Verbergen and the leader of the dwarven tribe.
Appearance
Guze is short and covered with fur.
Personality
Guze cares greatly about the safety of his fellow Beasten and will ignore the circumstances of how they may have gotten injured, as evidenced when he gets angry at Hajime for injuring Jin Vanton after the latter threatens the former with violence.
Like most beastmen, Guze worships Kaori Shirasaki as a goddess after she uses her powers to restore Verbergen and heal its citizens.
Chronology
Guze and the other elders of Verbergen banished the Haulia Tribe for concealing the existence of the "cursed child" Shea due to her ability to manipulate mana.
When Verbergen's elder chief Ulfric Heipyst invited Hajime Nagumo, Yue and the Haulia Tribe in order to be allowed passage to the Great Labyrinth that resided in the Sea of Trees, Zel and the other elders immediately expressed his disapproval at allowing them to attend due to their prejudice against humans, as well as the Haulia Tribe having been exiled. After Hajime defeated the bearman elder Jin Vanton in combat while attempting to kill him, the other elders were convinced of claims of having conquered the Labyrinth that belonged to Oscar Orcus and earning their aid based on Verbergen's laws. Guze expressed his anger that Hajime was acting like he was the victim during the ordeal. Ulfric managed to placate Guze by admitting that Hajime was right. Ultimately the elders decided to banish Hajime from Verbergen due to his refusal to part with the Haulia Tribe after having making a deal to have them guide him to the labyrinth initially.
Months later, after Verbergen was attacked by demons, Hajime and his companions returned to Verbergen in order to conquer its labyrinth (Hajime was unable to do so during his first visit due to not having met the prerequisites to enter it). Thanks to Kaori Shirasaki, the damaged that the beastman nation injured during the attack was restored, and most of the citizens were healed up too. As a result of this, many beastmen, including Guze came to idolize her.
Guze was later present when Emperor Gahard D. Hoelscher of the Hoelscher Empire met with them after the former was defeated in combat by the Haulia Tribe, and forced to free all of their beastman slaves. The meeting, however, was going nowhere due to the remaining hostilities that both sides had for each other. The prompted Hajime to teleport Gahard back to the empire before the hostilities could escalate into violence.
As Verbergen was recovering from the aftermath of the demon invasion, Guze continued to express his worship for Kaori. He would constantly follow her along with many other Beastan followers, and wished to erect structures in her name and establish her as an official state religion.

Like the rest of the beastmen of Verbergen, Guze greatly respects Ulfric.
Jin Vanton
Guze is good friends with Jin. He his angry at Hajime or severely harming Jin.
Kaori Shirasaki
Guze, like many other beastmen, idolizes Kaori after she uses her magic to restore Verbergen after the Demons invade it.
Zel
His fellow elder. Like him, Zel also worships Kaori. The two of them would argue over who Kaori likes more.
