Grandia (グランディア, Gurandia?) was a spirit of Tortus that governed the planet's energy, as well as managing the land and mana particles.
Appearance[]
Grandia appeared as a colossal serpent with pure white scales.
Personality[]
Grandia was gentle and kind. He cared for all the creatures of Tortus.
Background[]
Grandia was one of the four great spirits that peacefully watched over Tortus during its earliest history. However, they were confronted by a group of beings that traveled from another world and sought to rule Tortus. During the conflict, Grandia sacrificed himself to divide the continent into the north and south, in order to protect all those who resided in the south from the effect of a powerful magic attack that one of the enemies launched from the Divine Mountain. This created a massive fissure that stretched throughout the entire continent, with Grandia's body disintegrating into it. Furthermore, it had the ability to disperse all magic within its vicinity. It would later come to be known as Reisen Gorge, and was used as an execution site.
Despite Grandia's death, his essence was captured and placed in into golem that resembled it.

Despite being from the enemy's side, this woman sought to co-exist with all of Tortus' inhabitants. Even Grandia and his siblings grew fond of her.
Powers & Abilities[]
- Gravity Manipulation - As the spirit that governed Tortus' planetary energy, Grandia could freely manipulate gravity.
- Immense Mana - As a guardian spirit of Tortus, Grandia possessed a tremendous amount of mana.

- Grandia may be based on the serpent Jörmungandr from Norse mythology.
