Detref Ernst (デトレフ・エルンスト, Detorefu Erunsuto?) was the king of the Odion Federation, as well as the general in charge of its army. He and the federation aided the Holy Church in a war against the Haltina Republic, but were defeated thanks to the Liberators. As a result of this defeat, Detref was executed for their loss.
Appearance[]
Detref was an older adult man in his 60s. Despite his age, he had a heavily muscled frame and was over two meters tall. He had white hair and a white mustanche, and only one eye, which he covered with an eyepatch.

Biography[]
Detref became the ruler of the Odion Federation through winning the mock battle that determined it every five years.
At some point, Detref lost an eye in a war that the federation was involved with.
When the Holy Church declared war against the Haltina Republic in order to capture the person who was in possession of magic from the age of gods, they conscripted Detref and he rest of the federation to aid them.

After the church was defeated by the republic, Detref was executed by the Templar Knights, as a way to place the blame on him for their failure.
Relationships[]
- Sim Gato - Although the two of them were enemies, Sim had developed a warrior's bond with Detref, as the two of them battled each other. Sim even hoped that two of them could be friends if the Liberators had succeeded in their goal of chaining the world. Unfortunately, this would never come to pass, as Detref had been executed for the Odion Federation losing to the republic. Upon learning of Detref's death, Sim grieved for him.
- Laus Barn - Unlike the rest of the church's leaders, Laus did not blame Detref for their losses while they were fighting the republic.
Powers & Abilities[]
- Expert Combatant - Detref was a highly capable warrior. Despite possessing no special abilities, he had trained himself up to the point where he could fight equally against atavists.

- Body Strengthening - A skill that uses mana o straighten he body.
Weapons & Equipment[]
- Claymore - Detref’s primary weapon. It was nearly as tall as him, and was so heavy that normal humans couldn’t even lift it. Even Detref needed to use body strengthening magic to wield it.

- Detref's name may by be based on the German name "Detlef". This name derives from the Old High German name "Dietleib", composed of two elements: "þeudō", meaning "a people, a nation" plus "laibō", which means "inheritor, heir, heirloom, legacy, remains, descendant".[2]
- Detref's surname "Ernst" is derived from the Old High German name "Ernust" from the Ancient Germanic word "ernustuz", which means "efficient, capable, diligent, sure, seriousness, earnest, strength, solidity".[3]
