The Liberators have a new mission: protect Queen Lyutillis Haltina of the beastmen republic from the fanatical armies of the Church. The Church will stop at nothing to carry out their god’s orders and kidnap Lyutillis, last of the seven ancient magic users. But not all the Liberators can reach the republic before the Church lays siege. Now, Miledi, Naiz, and Meiru must hold out until help arrives—and they must hope their friends return before the Church's own divine backup descends.

After receiving a plea for help from Badd, the Liberators' vice-commander, Miledi and the others race toward the Haltina Republic, which is currently embroiled in a fierce war with the church. Upon arriving, Miledi confronts the leader of the Holy Templar Knights, Laus Barn, once more. As their ideals clash, the spectre of one of God’s Apostles looms over the forest. The battle between the Liberators and their true enemy draws near, but who will emerge victorious?

• In this volume, Vandre is described as having red scales in his dragon form, but in the previous novel, they are described as being sky blue.
• In the Web Novel of the Main Series, Ahat is still alive and present with an army of apostles who accompany the demon Freid Bagwa to confront Hajime Nagumo and his group outside the Schnee Labyrinth in order to invite them to the Demon Kingdom Garland. As a result of Ahat's fate in the Zero series, she is replaced by Hearst in the Light Novel adaptation.
